Commissioned in 2007 for one of Greece's leading photographers, the brief called for a building that functions as a precision instrument — large-scale production studios, post-production, and offices stacked into a single cubic volume embedded in the dense residential fabric of Athens. The response was deliberately industrial: a heavy steel frame left fully exposed on all facades, infilled with aluminium composite panels and large-format glazing, constructed from a blank sheet with zero applied ornament. What you see is exactly what it is. Where the surrounding city accumulates decoration across decades, this building subtracts — a tool for image-making that declares its purpose from the street, stands apart by function rather than gesture, and asks nothing of its context except the space to work.
